ZigZAG CHAIR

In this series of experimental chairs I explored different ways to support and transfer weight. Triangle and Zigzag chairs deal specifically with the potentials of mitered connections and ways to reinforce them. The last chair was inspired by Alvar Aalto’s bent wood chair and explores the potentials of wood lamination and digital fabrication. Along with the technical considerations, this series also emphasizes the expressive nature of the different woods used.

Inspired by the Reitveld chair, the Zigzag chair substitutes the metal screws running along the top and bottom of the original and replaces them with wooden triangular keys.
